Installing KDE4

The last 11 January 2008 has been released the stable version of KDE4 that now uses the Qt4 libraries.
This is a simple guide to install KDE 4
on K/Ubuntu's systems and derivates.

Only if you have installed beta versions of KDE4
before to start write this command:

sudo apt-get remove kdelibs5 kde4base-data kde4libs-data

Now open the file sources.list through the terminal:

           sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list      If you have GNOME
oppure  sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list       If you have KDE

Paste on the bottom of the file this line:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu gutsy main

Save and close the file, and give these commands (one at time) in the terminal:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kde4-core

Now we've finished!
Reboot your pc and you will see the new KDE4!
If before the installation you had KDE login normally, if instead you had GNOME when you must put user e password select the KDE session!
